President Donald Trump extended an olive branch to House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler in a rare moment of peace amid a feud that has been boiling since the 1980s.

Nadler had a brief dizzy spell in May where he slumped forward at an event with New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, appearing dazed and unresponsive. As a safety measure, his staff took him to a hospital.

There, per Yahoo News, Trump called him and told him that he looked “tough” on TV, high praise in the President’s book.

The two have been at odds since Trump was a real estate mogul and Nadler rising in his political career in New York. Nadler stymied one of Trump’s building projects, a tiff neither of them has forgotten in the years since.

  1. Being kind I would say, well, there does seem to be a shred of decency in Spankee.

Being realistic, he was probably calling to see if Nadler was sick enough to throw in the towel, as Spankee views him as a terrier nipping at his heels. Since he cannot fire him, Spankee can only hope that health issues sideline Nadler.

  2. Well, I suspect Trump in private might not be as hostile as he seems on TV. He’s an acting president appealing to his deplorable base.

  3. It wasn’t out of kindness. Trump was wondering if the attempted poisoning of Nadler by russkie agents had worked, and he was too impatient to wait for news.

  4. Generally, I think that even pols I normally disagree with should be given credit for acting in a decent or considerate manner. However, Mr. Trump is different. He crossed over the line where one no longer deserves any positive evaluation for doing the right thing long ago. He simply had: and blew, too many chances to be a decent human being. Now he is simply a malignant force and his every act must be viewed with suspicion.
