In an off-the-rails joint press conference Wednesday, President Donald Trump threatened to bring a “major lawsuit” against some amorphous group of people that seems to include former Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

“It should never happen to another President ever,” he said of what he sees as poor treatment at the hands of the special counsel. “I’m have been talking about it from the standpoint of bringing a major lawsuit and have been talking about it a long time. We’ve been investigating the corruption having to do with what they did to my people, they destroyed many people.”

Trump’s fury about the Mueller probe has reared its head on a near-weekly basis during his presidency, and may be the impetus for Attorney General William Barr’s summer jet-setting to coerce world leaders to investigate the origins of the probe.
