Former Wall Street Journal editorial writer Mary Kissel was recently hired by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as a senior adviser for policy and strategic messaging, despite her past TV criticisms of President Trump.

As recently as Trump’s universally condemned press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Helsinki summit, Kissel called Trump’s performance “propaganda,” as Politico flagged. In 2016, Kissel earned a personal vilification from then-candidate Trump on Twitter after she said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that he had “no principles” and “no policies.”

“Major loser – no clue!” Trump declared.

One former administration official hinted to Politico that Trump may not be aware of the recent hire.

“Trump would lose his mind if he knew about this,” the ex-official told Politico.
