Falling in line with orders issued in Canada, China and other countries, President Trump issued an emergency order Wednesday to ground all Boeing 737 max 8 and max 9 airplanes following a deadly crash this week.
Any plane in the air currently will be directed to go to it’s next destination and then will be grounded until further notice. All airlines have been notified, he said.
“Our hearts go out to all of those who lost loved ones, to their friends, to their families in both the Ethiopian and the Lion Airlines crashes,” he said. “It’s a terrible terrible thing Boeing is an incredible company. … Hopefully they will very quickly come up with an answer, but until they do the planes will be grounded.”

This looks like overkill. I can’t think of a good reason why Trump would personally get involved in this. This is what the FAA is for.
LEADERSHIP
Wait … what?
Everybody else already did it?
Fun surprise: the FAA does not currently have a permanent administrator, because after Congress laughed at the idea of Trump’s personal pilot serving in the role, he has not offered any other nominee.
Holy Crap! Never thought I’d see the day where Pres Ind 1 did something he was actually supposed to do.
And the FAA didn’t. Probably on Trump’s orders.
Trump: first to whine, last to take constructive action.
