President Donald Trump will award golfer Tiger Woods the Medal of Freedom on Monday, according to the Associated Press.

Woods won his fifth Masters title last month to much acclaim.

Trump has golfed with Woods at his club in Jupiter, Florida.

In what way does golf (or any sport for that matter) contribute to freedom?

Okay, other golfers have received the PMF (Palmer, Nicklaus, and Charlie Sifford). Per Wikipedia, the PMF

… recognizes those people who have made “an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors”.

That covers almost anything people can do. I’m with @ANNFFL though: any award from TrumpleThinskin is tainted on arrival.
