President Donald Trump has told those around him that he wants to strip the security clearance from more critics and people involved in the Russia investigation, according to a Friday Washington Post report.

Trump revoked the clearance of former CIA Director John Brennan on Thursday, earning massive backlash from other national security leaders.

Aides said that Trump thinks he looks strong and decisive for punishing Brennan so aggressively. Senior advisers, including press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, reportedly advised Trump to announce the security revocation this week to change the narrative from former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman’s tapes.
