President Donald Trump offered a bold proposal Wednesday for when COVID-19 is done infecting and killing Americans by the thousands: Forget it ever happened.

“Once we OPEN UP OUR GREAT COUNTRY, and it will be sooner rather than later, the horror of the Invisible Enemy, except for those that sadly lost a family member or friend, must be quickly forgotten,” he tweeted on Wednesday. “Our Economy will BOOM, perhaps like never before!!!”

Trump has been champing at the bit to get Americans to go back to work after the U.S. economy suffered a massive beating from the pandemic, thereby imperiling Trump’s reelection prospects.

Several other Republicans have fallen in line with the President’s desperate push for an end to quarantines and social distancing, including Texas Lieutenant Gov. Dan Patrick (R), who encouraged the elderly to allow themselves to die from the coronavirus for the economy’s sake.
