Trump Admin Ending UN Aid To Palestinian Refugees

The Trump administration is ending all aid to a United Nations program for Palestinian refugees, a move that experts fear will worsen the humanitarian disaster and rampant violence in Palestine, particularly in Gaza, according to a Thursday Washington Post report.

The administration reportedly plans to call for a narrowing of the definition of “refugee,” which would vastly shrink the number of Palestinians eligible for aid from 5 million to a tiny fraction of that.

These cuts, along with the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, are part of a drastic change in the United States’ Middle East policy under Trump.
