Trump Admin Planning To Shunt Asylum Seekers Into Mexico To Await Verdict

With a temporarily favorable court ruling, the Trump administration plans to shunt asylum seekers into Mexico to wait for their cases to be decided, according to internal memos obtained by the Los Angeles Times.

A federal appeals court in California temporarily lifted an injunction blocking the move on Friday. The policy is being dubbed “Remain in Mexico.”

President Donald Trump has had immigrant placement on the brain lately, floating an idea that his own administration already shot down about dumping immigrants into sanctuary cities to punish the Democrats that instituted the immigrant-friendly policy.
