CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin couldn’t contain himself when CNN’s John Berman brought up Ivanka Trump’s use of her private email account for government business.

“Irony is dead!” he cried, even before Berman could get his question out.

“Most people realize that government officials do use their private e-mail occasionally,” Toobin continued. “Hillary Clinton did it, too. It is not fundamentally a big deal. The news media made it a big deal. Donald Trump made it a big deal.”

He added that he feels a measure of personal responsibility for talking about Clinton’s emails on CNN too much during the 2016 election and contributing to the blown-out-of-proportion narrative.

Oh, I’m certain that the Trump base will finally wake up and finally acknowledge what a bunch of scummy deplorables the entire Trump family is.

    And, then again…maybe not.

  2. Well, make it a big deal now!

The lying and distortion against Mrs. Clinton is continuing even now. Step up. Do the right thing. Grill Donald, then ask him again and again. He owes her an apology.

The media knows Obama was born in Hawaii, right?

  3. He added that he feels a measure of personal responsibility for talking about Clinton’s emails on CNN too much during the 2016 election …

No doubt he's reached out to Hillary to personally express his regret and offer an apology.
  4. Cue the arguments that go something like this…

“Hillary did it and nobody cared. It’s only an issue when Republicans do it!”

“Oh come on, everyone does it…”

Yeah, except that plenty of people “cared” and millions of $$ were spent by FBI, State, Congress, et al investigating Clinton’s use of a private server and private email, and of using that private server for State business, and she was roundly castigated for it. The final report said she had not followed proper procedure, etc. It did not, however, rise to the level of a “criminal act”.

In these cases (Ivanka and others) it’s obvious hypocrisy, and I suspect it’s intended to hide those communications from the official record. That may also have been true in Clinton’s case. Not saying it wasn’t. But here we are again once more with the pots calling the kettle black, and the GOP-related people blaming others for their own actions.

Again, it doesn’t matter if Susie was in the cookie jar earlier. YOU are now in the cookie jar, and YOU are supposed to know (and follow) the rules. Do I have to invent a new mega-hashtag…?
