After a bizarre day in which indicted Trump associate Roger Stone posted and then deleted an image appearing to threaten federal Judge Amy Berman Jackson, Stone and his lawyers filed a formal “Notice of Apology” to the court.

Notably the notice included not only a statement of apology from Stone but one from his lawyers as well.

The incident began earlier in the day when Stone posted an image to Instagram which had a picture of Jackson with what appeared to be a crosshair symbol. The image came from a conspiracy website that appears to support Stone.

Later in the day, Stone removed the image and posted an explanation in which he called it a “random photo taken from the internet.” He claimed his intent had been misrepresented.
