Watch Spicer Stammer About ‘Insightful Insights’ Live From Trump Hotel Bar

A tie-free and tense Sean Spicer — apparently flustered by Trump campaign aide Katrina Pierson or off kilter for … some other reason — was a guest on BlazeTV’s coverage of the State of the Union live from the bar at the Trump Hotel on Tuesday evening.

Seemingly glowing from his ex-boss’ SOTU performance (or, just booze), the former White House press secretary had a harder time than usual expressing his “love” for President Trump. He spluttered his way through a series of nonsensical remarks about Pierson’s “real serious insightful insights,” his love for “velvet” and how much “fun” he’s having on before deciding a live TV appearance was an opportune time to literally pet Blaze host Eric Bolling’s jacket.

Bolling, for his part, tried to keep Spicer focused as he harped on how long Pierson’s been on the “train,” but the attempts were futile.

“What are you talking about Bolling!” Spicer shouted when Bolling confessed he didn’t like Spicer’s politics. “Just stop, listen to me!”

The interview was, thankfully, streamed live and captured by Twitter for those who missed the rowdy affair.

Dear Reader,

When we asked recently what makes TPM different from other outlets, readers cited factors like honesty, curiosity, transparency, and our vibrant community. They also pointed to our ability to report on important stories and trends long before they are picked up by mainstream outlets; our ability to contextualize information within the arc of history; and our focus on the real-world consequences of the news.

Our unique approach to reporting and presenting the news, however, wouldn’t be possible without our readers’ support. That’s not just marketing speak, it’s true: our work would literally not be possible without readers deciding to become members. Not only does member support account for more than 80% of TPM’s revenue, our members have helped us build an engaged and informed community. Many of our best stories were born from reader tips and valuable member feedback.

We do what other news outlets can’t or won’t do because our members’ support gives us real independence.

If you enjoy reading TPM and value what we do, become a member today.
