Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) reportedly called Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) on Tuesday night to offer his support after she apologized for a tweet some saw as anti-Semitic.

“I talked to Ilhan last night to give her my personal support,” Sanders said Wednesday during a conference call, as quoted by Jewish Insider.

Sanders added, “We will stand by our Muslim brothers and sisters.”

The call was reportedly hosted by James Zogby, founder of the Arab American Institute and formerly a longtime member of the Democratic National Committee’s executive committee.

The Daily Beast on Thursday confirmed that the call took place with Omar’s office.
