Ramirez’s Lawyer Said She Is Willing To Testify, Possibly Without FBI Probe

John Clune, attorney for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s second accuser, Deborah Ramirez, said Wednesday that his client would be willing to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee, possibly even without a prior FBI investigation of her claims.

“She would be willing to testify, but we can’t even talk to the Senate Judiciary Committee about what that would look like, and they certainly haven’t invited her,” Clune told NBC’s Savannah Guthrie. “So at this point, it’s a moot question.”

On the point of an FBI investigation before the hypothetical testimony, for which the first accuser, professor Christine Blasey Ford, has asked and been denied, Clune emphasized that they still want one but that the lack of an investigation may not be a deal breaker.

“I wouldn’t call [the FBI probe] a condition, but it’s the only intelligent way to get to the truth of what happened,” he said.

He added that, if Ramirez ever did get an invitation from the committee to testify, he would be “very concerned” but leave it up to her if she ultimately wanted to testify without the investigation.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if she would agree to do that,” he said.

The pressure is on Chuck, how do you want history to remember you? And what happens when Stormy’s lawyer makes his client public (its time to let that cat out of the bag).

  2. It is easy for Trump to say there is no corroboration when Republicans don’t allow any corroborating evidence to be heard. My question is why don’t the reporters point out that there are multiple accusers and for Ramirez at least there is a lot of corroboration. Apparently the story spread all over the dorm the night of the party.

  3. If only he thought that these “ladies” were a threat to his “legacy.” The impunity of white men: that is the GOP.

  4. OK I will suspend my hatred of those stupid window pane patterned suits if Clune can get Ramirez’s testimony on the record.

  5. Just like there is no proof that America has a gun violence problem, because the government made it illegal to fund the collection of gun violence statistics, or that there is no proof that Wall Street crimes caused the Republican’t Great Recession, because the government chose not to pursue criminal investigations. The Republican’t Party is truly the Party of Murder, Theft and Rape…
