MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Several news organizations are reporting that prescription drugs were discovered with Prince when he was found dead in his Paisley Park home.
ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN, citing unidentified law enforcement sources, have reported that prescription painkillers were found on the 57-year-old Prince and in his home. The Star Tribune, also citing unnamed sources, reported that prescription pills were found but that it wasn’t clear whether they were prescribed to Prince.
Prince died April 21. Autopsy results aren’t expected for three to four weeks.
Several outlets also reported Minnesota investigators have asked the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency for help.
Carver County Deputy Sheriff Jason Kamerud discounted those reports late Wednesday, saying the DEA “is not part of the investigation at this time.” A DEA spokesman in Chicago hasn’t responded to messages.

So how many 57-year-old men do you know who aren’t taking some perscription drug? This is a non-story at best, but probably intended to be what it is, a smear.
I don’t agree with you on much, but I do agree here. I have read he suffered from a very bad hip - and so what. Typical MSM looking for any thing!!
Assume he did die from something related to the drugs. Hopefully we are getting to a place where we can discuss drug use and abuse without demonizing or criminalizing Prince. We need to stop framing drug use as a personal failing or weakness.
I just looked in my medicine cabinet. Three different prescription drugs, plus two other medications that would be prescription but the OTC versions are available and cheaper. And I don’t even have anything serious wrong.
Actually, both of his hips were suppose to need surgery. But his being a JW posed a problem. There was a time he used two canes the pain was so bad. One can’t spend decades wearing 5 inch heels and doing splits onstage. The body can only take but so much abuse.
But it’s not sexy enough unless there is an inference of something bad.
