House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had sharp words for Vice President Mike Pence, who stayed at an out-of-the-way Trump resort during his Ireland trip, accusing him Wednesday of “selling out the Constitution.”
“Vice President Pence promised that their Administration would defend the Constitution and stand by a ‘strict constructionist’ interpretation of the Constitution,” she said in a written statement. “Instead the Trump-Pence Administration is ignoring the text itself and selling out the Constitution to line Trump’s pockets.”
“Trump properties are a cesspool of corruption, a black hole for taxpayers’ money, an exploiter of immigrant labor and a national security threat with a suspected foreign spy walking the halls,” she added, continuing to list specific areas of corruption.
Pence stayed at Trump’s resort in Doonbeg, Ireland, a full hour’s flight from Dublin where his official business was taking place. His team initially said that he stayed there at Trump’s “suggestion,” later changing the story to insist that it was close to Pence’s far-flung relatives and somehow a better post from where to monitor the hurricane.
Selling Out The Constitution’
Pretty much Nancy
Not a lot of Hype and exaggeration
Everything they touch
I think Trump’s colluding and conspiring with the Russian government and Eastern Europe oligarchs to steal a Presidential election is of more concern. But Pelosi can’t be bothered to issue periodic invectives against that sort of stuff. Wouldn’t want it on the public’s daily radar, would we?
Well, that’s got to burn. Say it loud, say it often SELLING OUT THE CONSTITUTION.
I’d read that in addition to all the cars they carry around for the driving processions, they took a helicopter too. Just trying to be frugal with the taxpayer’s money.
She and Schumer should both repeat this after the break and put in in the Congressional record, for whatever that’s worth. They might focus on McConnell’s support of the Russian’s attack on our elections, too. It’s officially campaign season so burn, baby, burn!
This is good: making sure the Trump effluvia gets splashed all over the Dominionist Q-tip. More please.
