During a back and forth with Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) Tuesday night, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) pushed back against his request to start an impeachment inquiry, exclaiming: “I don’t want to see him impeached, I want to see him in prison.”
According to Politico, Pelosi meant that she wanted Trump defeated in 2020, then prosecuted for his many alleged crimes.
There are varying levels of dissent among the Democratic heavy hitters. House Intel Committee chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Ways and Means chairman Richard Neal (D-MA), for example, believe that an inquiry should not be begun until the caucus is fully united behind the idea of impeachment.
Can’t we have both?
Not mutually exclusive, my friend. I’m greedy. I want it all.
Smart lady.
Patience.
His time is coming when the facts ,not emotions, are in.
Before the storm of Pelosi bashing comes in, here’s a paragraph from that article:
“They said she was expressing solidarity with pro-impeachment Democrats who want to hold the president accountable while disputing the idea that it is now time to take that step.”
I don’t think it means what the title suggests.
Legally, yes, even if he is impeached by the House and then acquitted by the Senate.
