House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) spoke out on some of the recent controversy surrounding former Rep. Eric Massa’s (D-NY) in an interview with Charlie Rose last night, and said that Massa, who has been diagnosed with cancer, “is a very sick person.”
She added: “Poor baby. Sometimes we really exaggerate our own importance in light of these things.”
Pelosi said that “this is a sad case,” and suggested that “perhaps his judgment is impaired because of the ethical issues that have arisen.”
