NM Gov Removed National Guard From Border Because There’s No ‘Real Emergency’

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) removed the National Guard troops President Trump ordered deployed to the U.S.-Mexico border in her state because she saw the move as unnecessary.

“I was on the border and I’m looking and assessing whether or not there’s a real emergency or crisis and there isn’t,” she told CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday. “And the reality is that these troops need to be available when there is a serious issue or an emergency to deal with.”

While it is not surprising that the Democratic governor would oppose Trump’s border efforts, the Trump administration has tried to sell the necessity of their border wall on a perceived threat or “emergency” at the border. After Congress passed a spending bill that only supplied a fraction of his desired wall funds, Trump declared a national emergency at the border so he could secure the remainder of his funding.

This move sounds reasonable to me. I wish we in Kentucky had a Gov. with this much ability.

  3. We’re in the “Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!” phase of things now, when the bogus bad faith of everything that’s happened in the last two years is revealed more and more. It’s kryptonite to a con artist, and very few of them can keep up the pretense once it starts.

  4. Why won’t the fake news media report on all the New Mexico MS13 murders? New Mexico was the most populated state in the US and now it’s like mid 30s. Plus I watched this documentary on a meth cook in New Mexico and from that I’ve learned they have serious issues with the cartel running chicken restaurants as fronts for drug money laundering and distribution. It’s insane and no one will report on it.
