GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warns Hamas that Israel will intensify its week-long campaign against Gaza militants if Hamas rejects an Egyptian-proposed cease-fire.
The truce was supposed to go into effect early on Tuesday morning but the Israeli military says 24 rockets have been fired at Israel from the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip since the expected start of the cease-fire.
Netanyahu says that “if Hamas rejects the Egyptian proposal and the rocket fire from Gaza does not cease, and that appears to be the case, we are prepared to continue and intensify our operation.”

Ohhhhhhh, BiBi LeStrange is a happy guy! He’s bombing Palestinians, and knows he’ll get to bomb whatever Palestinians are left when they don’t knuckle under.
Yes, if only there were some way to stop him–you know, other than Hamas accepting the cease-fire (or as you put it, “knuckling under”).
Oh no, what’s he going to do this time…conquer their lands then leave it a cratered moonscape after he’s done, enslave their people, limit their movements, bulldoze their homes then not allow them building materials, not let them work, bomb them randomly, assassinate police captains, and then claim they’re “free” as long as they do exactly what he tells them?
By the way, Collective Punishment is outlawed by the Fourth Geneva Convention. (Section 1, Article 33)
Israel is signatory to this particular Convention.
So, Bibi likes to bomb Palestinians, yet he is accepting a cease fire that prevents him from doing that? Seems you are smoking something other than the GOTP.
And can anyone enlighten me on Hamas’ strategery here? Is their belief that if they just rain enough rockets that fail to land on Israel, then Bibi will resign and invite Hamas to form the next government of Israel and turn it into an Islamic state and run it as well as they run Gaza. Yes, that is an excellent strategy. Carry on.
