Melissa Schwartz, spokeswoman for former acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe, clarified comments from a not-yet-aired interview McCabe did with CBS in which he was apparently said Department of Justice officials discussed removing President Donald Trump via the 25th Amendment before special counsel Robert Mueller’s appointment.
Only a short clip has been aired from the interview, which does not include the 25th Amendment anecdote. CBS host Scott Pelley shared the story on air while talking about the interview.
Trump had become fixated on the now-denied anecdote, quoting Alan Dershowitz who called it an “attack on our Constitution.”
“Trying to use the 25th Amendment to try and circumvent the Election is a despicable act of unconstitutional power grabbing…which happens in third world countries. You have to obey the law. This is an attack on our system & Constitution.” Alan Dershowitz. @TuckerCarlson

The interview, the first McCabe has done since his firing and coinciding with the release of his memoir, will air in full on Sunday.

Gallows humor gets you in trouble?
Shorter Chiselin’ Trump: “Trying to use the 25th Amendment of our Constitution is an attack on our Constitution.”
Dotard says: a despicable act of unconstitutional power grabbing…
Dotard declares: “a national emergency…”
Dotard is why we can’t have nice things, like a sane country.
Okay. But, it’s still an option. Right?
