Prominent white nationalist Matt Heimbach was named “director of community outreach” for the National Socialist movement, the largest neo-Nazi organization in the United States, according to a Sunday press release.

Heimbach completed a stint in jail in June following a chaotic four-way domestic abuse brawl at the Indiana trailer park where his former group, the Traditionalist Worker Party, was headquartered. He spent 38-days behind bars for violating his probation related to another incident, in which he harassed a black protester at a 2016 Trump campaign rally.

When Heimbach spoke to TPM after his release, he said he was catching up on season two of the “Handmaid’s Tale” and was “not involved in any politics right now.”

According to the NSM press release, Heimbach’s new role involves “community outreach projects” and handling “public and international relations.”

  1. Heimbach has been a Nazi fanboy for years. His former group, Traditionalist Workers Party, were Nazis in every way that mattered, sans using an actual swastika.

His arrest and subsequent jail time (he was on probation already) might have prompted him to change the direction of his life. Apparently he didn’t make that choice. He’ll end up in prison or dead.

  2. Community outreach. I must be going out of my emmereffing mind.

  3. I wish people would stop using the term “White Nationalist”. There is no nation called “White”. Heimbach’s nationality is American as is that of millions of Black, Hispanic, Asian, Jewish and all the others he hates. Call him a White Supremacist or even better just a Nazi…

  4. “Heimbach completed a stint in jail in June following a chaotic four-way domestic abuse brawl at the Indiana trailer park…”

If he plays his cards right, there may be a SCOTUS nomination in it for him.
