Former White House Director of Legislative Affairs Marc Short reacted to reports that first daughter and White House senior adviser Ivanka Trump used private email for public business on Tuesday, saying the move certainly “appears hypocritical” before suggesting she didn’t behave as badly as, say, Hillary Clinton.

“It’s hypocritical and certainly it looks bad and I’m sure that the media will have a field day with it today,” he told CNN Tuesday. “I do think there are a couple important distinctions to make. One is that Hillary Clinton did delete over 30,000 e-mails, she had I.T. Specialists put a server in her home and there’s classified information as secretary of state that she put on there.”

CNN’s Alisyn Camerota pushed back on some of Short’s claims. Watch the exchange below:

  1. How much of the information on Ivanka’s emails and on Trump servers should be classified or confidential? How much of that information was laundered to 3rd parties to give them an advantage to lobby, bribe or influence legislators, regulators or the WH for favors? How much of that information ended up in the hands of foreign intel and is being used right now against US interests? Did Saudi Arabia get a hold of any of this information? Is that why lawmakers are basically mute when it comes to Khashoggi? Many, many governments have gone down for stuff like this.

This is the tip of the ice berg here. This does need to be looked at. Everything they accused HRC of risking with a private server has a much higher chance of being true with respect to Ivanka’s use of private emails to conduct public business.

Yes, a one day media field day for Ivanka and a several year media field day for Hillary. All things being equal.

Marc Short is, of course, a totally unbiased observer. I’m not even sure the gamut for the left goes that far over.

  5. The fucking Clinton emails were the lynchpin of her Dad’s campaign. So either Ivanka is a liar, or she’s the stupidest person on the planet.
