Rep. Steve King (R-IA) spent his Fourth of July getting duped on Twitter, first retweeting Ken Klippenstein of the web series “Young Turks” and earnestly praising Klippenstein’s “uncle” — actually Jack Nicholson’s character in “A Few Good Men.”

King has since deleted the retweet, as Klippenstein changed his Twitter handle to “Steve King is a white supremacist” after the congressman retweeted him.

King was burned by the Twitter name change once more on the holiday, retweeting someone who changed their handle to “Steve King drinks pee pee.” As of early Friday morning, the tweet is still on King’s timeline.

The wild world of Twitter is a hard one to navigate — looks like King just can’t handle the truth.
