Talk about a leak to the press!

With less than a week to go before President Trump’s presidency comes to an end, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner have become the center of Internet fodder after the Washington Post reported on Thursday that the couple refused to let their Secret Service detail use any of the six bathrooms inside their ritzy D.C. home.

Neighbors and law enforcement officials told the Post that the Secret Service detail assigned to the President’s daughter and son-in-law was instead forced to spend months searching for a restroom to use while on the job.

Secret Service detail initially resorted to a porta-potty outside the couple’s home, but it was removed after an outcry of neighbors over the unsightly scene.

Law enforcement officials told the Post that agents then began using a bathroom in a garage at the nearby home of the Obamas, which the former president’s protective detail had converted into a command post. Another option was driving a mile to Vice President Mike Pence’s home.

The Obamas’ home as an option didn’t last long, following an incident where a Secret Service supervisor from the Trump/Kushner detail left an “unpleasant mess” in the Obama bathroom sometime before the fall of 2017. The incident prompted the leaders of the Obama detail to ban the agents working for Trump and Kushner from ever returning, according to the Post.

Eventually, the Trump/Kushner Secret Service detail rented a basement studio with a bathroom from a neighbor of the Kushner family — which came with the hefty price tag of more than $100,000 funded by taxpayers to date. According to the Post, the federal government has been spending $3,000 a month since September 2017 for Secret Service detail to rent out the studio.

The Post’s scoop landed the Ivanka and Jared in hot water with Twitter users:
