House Freedom Caucus members on Wednesday continued pressing on with attacking President Biden’s so-called “border crisis” by piling on bad faith arguments that conveniently ignored, yet touted, the Trump administration’s inhumane immigration policies.

In the past week, Republicans have increasingly smeared migrants who come to the border as vectors of COVID-19 — a worry that contradicts their calls for re-openings amid the pandemic.

The desperate attempt by Republicans to go after the President for the surge of migrants at the border comes on the heels of Biden scoring his first legislative victory with the passage of the overwhelmingly popular $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill in Congress — which all congressional Republicans voted against, yet some have shamelessly taken credit for it. The GOP-led outcry against Biden over the influx of migrants at the border has even extended into mainstream right-wing media, with Fox News dedicating daytime news coverage to what they have branded “Biden’s border crisis.”

The House Freedom Caucus held a press conference on Wednesday at the Capitol that served as a vehicle to falsely accuse Biden of incentivizing migrants to come to the U.S. The White House has repeatedly urged migrants against coming to the U.S. border.

Amid a recent surge of unaccompanied minors on the border, Biden bluntly refuted the notion that he’s encouraging migrants to come to the country, during an ABC News interview that aired Wednesday.

“Yes, I can say quite clearly: Don’t come over,” Biden said. “Don’t leave your town or city or community.”

The House Freedom Caucus pressed on with their bad faith attacks, however:

Lesko Accuses Biden Of Being ‘Culpable Of Child Abuse’

Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) griped that migrants at the border aren’t being tested for COVID-19 while falsely claiming that Biden purposely incentivizes the migrants who could bring the coronavirus into the U.S.

“I don’t understand why the President of the United States would incentive people to travel for thousands of miles — children, minors traveling thousands of miles,” Lesko said.

Biden has done no such thing.

Lesko then took her rhetoric up a notch by claiming Biden is “culpable of child abuse” because she believes that the President’s policies are encouraging migrants to travel to the U.S. with the help of drug cartels.

Gosar Rails Against Biden Admin For Being ‘Blinded By Hatred’ For Trump Admin

Well, that’s a rich assertion.

After quipping that his worst nightmare has come true with the surge of migrants at the border, Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) said that the influx at the border can be blamed on the Biden administration’s “hatred” for the previous administration.

“This administration actually hated the previous administration and they’re blinded by that hatred in the fact that they’re now costing this country and its citizens the respect that they deserve,” Gosar said.

Throughout his four years in office, Trump hurtled numerous derogatory insults at his critics. Not to mention the former president’s ongoing crusade to delegitimize the election process and calling on his supporters to go after Republican lawmakers who voted in favor of his impeachment, telling the crowd at CPAC last month to “get rid of them all.”

Gohmert Misleadingly Jabs Biden For ‘Taking Siestas’ Amid Migrant Surge

Appearing to carry on Trump’s name-calling legacy, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) defaulted to one of the former president’s derogatory nicknames for Biden on the campaign trail — ironically enough, in Spanish.

“We have the drug cartels who are not sleeping, they’re not resting, they’re making more money than anybody of North America,” Gohmert said. “They’re driving, they’re pushing increasing profits while the President of the United States is the one taking siestas as America is being invaded. ”

After complaining about the razor wire fence around the Capitol as a result of the deadly Capitol insurrection that Trump incited earlier this year, Gohmert went on to falsely claim that Biden is inviting migrants to the border and allowing them to spread COVID-19.

“And yet on the border where there’s an estimated 25 percent coming in with COVID they’re saying ‘come on in, let’s get you all to the United States,” Gohmert said.

Cloud Nonsensically Says Biden ‘Inherited A Solution’ And Should’ve Done ‘Nothing’ With It

Rep. Michael Cloud (R-TX) suggested that Biden should’ve taken a cue from the Trump administration’s inhumane immigration policies, which included the family separation policy that the current administration has been left to grapple with.

“It was one thing for the Trump administration, who inherited a major challenge and had to come up with difficult decisions to fix a problem, but the Biden administration inherited a solution and all they had to do to keep this from happening was absolutely nothing,” Cloud said.

Cloud went on to knock Biden by insinuating that the President’s win in the November election signaled to cartels that “it’s open season again” for recruiting migrants to send to the border.

Weber Throws Dems Under The Bus For Criticizing Trump’s Superspreader Rallies

Much like Gohmert, Rep. Randy Weber (R-TX) joined in on parroting Trump’s “sleepy” insult against Biden before suggesting that the surge of migrants at the border can be tied to the President’s rhetoric on immigration.

“His messaging is incentivizing risky behavior for these children coming across the border, led by drug cartels, infiltrating the country that Biden is supposed to be protecting,” Weber said.

Weber then knocked Dems for supposedly being anti-freedom by criticizing Trump for holding superspreader rallies amid the COVID-19 pandemic — ignoring the former president’s repeated downplaying of the pandemic and continuing to hold campaign rallies shortly after being hospitalized for the infectious disease.

Weber threw in another Trump-like derogatory jab at Biden, before suggesting that if former President Ronald Reagan were alive, he would tell Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to “build up this wall.”

“Being in the basement is a disaster for baseball teams, and it’s a disaster for the President of the United States who took an oath to defend America,” Weber said.
