A Democratic congressional intern was arrested Wednesday for allegedly posting private identifying information “about one or more United States Senators to the internet,” the Capitol Police said.
Jackson A. Cosko, 27, was a staffer at one point for former Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and current Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH), Politico reported. After leaving Hassan’s office in May, he worked as an intern for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), Lee’s chief of staff confirmed to Politico. The chief of staff said Cosko has been fired.
According to Politico, Cosko made “unauthorized entry” into Hassan’s office Tuesday. A Hassan staffer caught him and called the police.
Cosko’s arrest may be related to the doxxing of three senators — Mike Lee (R-UT), Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) — during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing at which Christine Blasey Ford and Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh testified last week.
During the hearing, the three senators’ addresses and phone numbers were posted on Wikipedia. The automated Twitter account @congressedits — which publishes screenshots of changes made to Wikipedia pages by congressional IP addresses — flagged the changes.
Per the Capitol Police, Cosko has been charged initially with making public restricted personal information, witness tampering, threats in interstate communications, unauthorized access of a government computer, identity theft, second degree burglary and unlawful entry.
The charges sounds like more than that, but you never know what a prosecutor will parse.
TYPICAL Libtard. FREE ROOM and BOARD. FREE Clothes. WANTs to LIVE OFF the government.
If he is going to get all of those charges thrown at him, I wish he had done something more consequential.
People are cracking up. It scares me to say it, but I think it is 50-50 right now that there is going to be some kind of terrible event before the mid-terms.
You know it’s sad that some folks probably do crime just to get food and board.
Please recalibrate your snark-o-meter. It would probably help to review eustace’s posting history.
