Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) suggested on Fox Business Network last night that Americans will use civil disobedience to oppose health care reform — and will simply refuse to sign up for mandatory insurance plans.
“You’re probably gonna see quite a bit of just civil disobedience,” Barton said. “Not in a violent sense, but in a sense that all these people that are supposed to mandatorily sign up — they’re just not gonna do it. They’re just gonna say, ‘Make me pay the penalty, but I’m not gonna do it.'”
But the bill isn’t all bad! Barton said that “there’s some good things” in the health care bill, but that “overall, it is a very bad bill.”
