Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani said Thursday after Paul Manafort’s sentencing that he feels “terrible” about how Manafort was treated “up to this point.”

“I think it’s not American to keep a man in solitary confinement to try to crack him,” he added, according to the Associated Press.

He said that he had not spoken to President Donald Trump about the sentencing.
