Former Rep. Jim Traficant (D-OH) was recently released from prison after a seven-year sentence for corruption charges. In prison, he took up painting and is now auctioning off three of his works to raise money for retired workers who’ve lost their pensions. Here, Traficant leaves the Capitol after the House of Representatives voted to expel him in 2002.

Traficant appears on CNN on Sept. 14, 2009. In interviews since his release, he’s toyed with running for public office again. Traficant is known for, among other things, his toupee, his love of Elvis and his overuse of the phrase “Beam me up!”
