Daily Show correspondent Lewis Black came out last night in support of Donald Trump’s potential White House bid because, Black said, the country is ready to move on from presidents and give dictators a shot.
America has tried all sorts of presidents, but none have panned out so well, Black said.
“What this country needs is a crazy third world dictator,” Black said. “And Donald Trump has what it takes to be that.”
For one thing, Black said, Trump has the sort of opulent homes often associated with dictators. Black even presented two photos of ornate dining rooms and asked viewers to guess which was Trump’s, and which was Saddam Hussein’s.
Black was also impressed with Trump’s history of making outrageous statements, such as boasting that he’d “screwed” Muammar Gaddafi in a real estate deal. It’s that sort of brazen talk that makes Trump an ideal candidate, Black said.
“This is what I’ve been waiting for my whole life,” Black said. “A President who’s not afraid to tell the truth about being a lying asshole.”
