The suspected El Paso shooter has been placed on suicide watch on the advice of medical professionals after being isolated from other inmates in an individual cell.

According to the El Paso Times, Patrick Crusius is being held without bond while the U.S. Attorney’s Office investigates possibly bringing hate crime or domestic terrorism charges against him.

Crusius allegedly murdered 22 people on August 3 at a Walmart after apparently posting an anti-immigrant screed online.

  1. I assume we can expect this suicide watch to be rescinded in a week’s time, then the janitor assigned to double-shift guard duty will miss a bed check and the Dallas Nazi will seize that window of time to do the tango with his homemade noose.

Then the Administration can sweep the memory of the Trump-inspired massacre into the past without any messy coverage of an on-going trial to open up any raw political wounds.

  2. No he doesn’t have a multimillion dollar estate or a lot of dirt on big wigs so they will make sure he doesn’t kill himself so they can.

  3. I am not really concerned if he commits suicide. It is just important that he do it slowly. Maybe something involving a dull hacksaw. As to suicide watch, I think we should all get to watch.

Ok clearly I need to do some yoga or something. My civility doesn’t seem to be functioning yet this morning.

  4. Oh, so the poor, delicate snowflake needs to be looked after with even more care now?

  5. It`s not so much what we do with this guy (or what he does to himself) that satisfies our need for some sort of retributive punishment but instead asking what creates such a person and what can be done to cut that complex chain of cause and effect. Causing that guy suffering just makes us more like him. Even if capital punishment or the threat of long incarceration prevents many people from such acts we see that it is not a sufficient deterent. Torture as retributive punishment seems so medieval although in some sense it may be inherent in our nature.
