In a befuddling Instagram Story post on Tuesday, the President’s eldest son attempted to explain why “walls work” by drawing a comparison between caged zoo animals and … immigrants?

“You know why you can enjoy a day at the zoo? Because walls work,” he said in an Instagram Story that has since disappeared.

While it seemed that Trump Jr. was attempting to draw a parallel between the proposed border wall at the U.S.-Mexico border and the cages that house zoo animals, a spokesperson for the first son told The Hill that Trump Jr. only meant to indicate “walls equal safety.”

  3. That’s right. Walls work both ways. They can keep you out or lock you in. Can’t wait for this one to get the view from the inside out.
