In a radio interview today, former DNC chairman Howard Dean spoke out against the some of the rhetoric that’s been used throughout the health care debate — including some of his own.Dean appeared on David Sirota’s talk radio show, and had some harsh words for the Senate bill. He first said that he thinks the Democrats had the votes for this, and they could have been tougher. He continued that he doesn’t understand the President’s perspective on the public option. It is not a small part of the bill, he said, it is the core of the bill.
He also said that he doesn’t condone the rhetoric that has been used to describe the bill, including some of his own.
Dean may be referring to comments he’s made in the past few weeks, as he made the rounds speaking out against the health care bill.
He told Vermont Public Radio that the bill “is essentially the collapse of health care reform in the United States Senate. Honestly the best thing to do right now is kill the Senate bill.”
In another appearance , on Good Morning America, Dean said that the Senate bill is “an insurance company’s dream” and a “bigger bailout for the insurance industry than AIG.”
