Stephen Colbert on Monday lamented Tim Pawlenty’s “rational” presidential campaign after the news that former Minnesota governor dropped out of the 2012 race.
“Rationality is the third rail of American politics,” Colbert said. “For the love of God, we eat fried butter on a stick! Does that sound like the act of a rational person?”
But Colbert was especially sad to see “T-Paw” drop out in a meek appearance ABC’s This Week, especially considering the “epic epicness” of his campaign ads.
“You should have played that all the way to the end!” Colbert said. “This is how you end a campaign!” So Colbert tweaked Pawlenty’s This Week appearance just a tad.
