George W. Bush‘s book tour took a swing through Burbank Thursday night, with the former president gamely laughing along as Jay Leno played some of Dubya’s most joked-about presidential moments, including attempting to leave an event in China through a locked door. “Now that was a man without an exit strategy,” joked Bush.

Leno started the interview by noting it had been a decade since their last meeting. “The last time you were here it was 2000, it was ten years ago,” said Leno, doing some quick math on the fly. “And in the last ten years, thank you for all the material.”
Was the president bothered being the butt of so many jokes in late night? “You know, I hate to tell you, I don’t want to hurt your feelings, but I was asleep.”
