Attorney General William Barr insists he’s not standing in the way of the House Judiciary Committee hearing from special counsel Robert Mueller.

“It’s Bob’s call whether he wants to testify,” Barr told the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday. “I’m trying to break away from Washington and do the real work of the attorney general.”

Barr confirmed there were ongoing discussions between the House Judiciary Committee and the special counsel’s office, despite Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) threats to use “subpoena power and any other legal power we have” to bring Mueller in for testimony.

Ahhh! I see you have a new line of imperial clothing!

  2. The president has already publicly said that Mueller should not testify.

In the real world, this would be a laughable public display of organizational dysfunction
