Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh (D) is pulling a Trump in her reaction to being questioned about a shady-looking book deal, accusing reporters of leading a “witch hunt.”

According to the Baltimore Sun, Pugh made $500,000 from the University of Maryland Medical System on her “Healthy Holly” children’s books since 2011 — while she sat on the medical system’s board. She held that post as both a state senator and mayor.

Pugh is not the only one with questionable entanglements: other members of the board with conflicting business interests have recently resigned their posts. She also resigned from the board Monday and reportedly returned the most recent $100,000.

She was, however, unique in her response. “All my income is reported to the IRS and everything is filed,” Pugh told The Baltimore Sun. “I don’t know what witch hunt y’all are on, but it’s done. I’ve got 1099s and I pay my taxes and everything is filed.”

In another Trumpian twist, she has declined to release her tax returns.
