Democratic President-elect Joe Biden has won the previously reliably red state of Arizona, further cementing his victory in the race against President Donald Trump.

CNN and NBC News called the Grand Canyon State for Biden on Thursday night. The Associated Press and Fox News (much to Trump’s fury) had projected Biden’s Arizona win on election night.

The state’s 11 electoral votes continue to put the former vice president over the line to win the election, which Trump has refused to concede and has instead stirred up debunked conspiracy theories about illegal voting.

The last Democrat to win Arizona was Bill Clinton in 1996.

The 2020 elections also saw Democratic Senate candidate Mark Kelly defeat Sen. Martha McSally (R-AZ), meaning that both of the state’s U.S. senators will be Democrats once Kelly is sworn in.
