LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say they still don’t have a clear motive for the Las Vegas shooting rampage.
Undersheriff Kevin C. McMahill provided an update on the investigation Friday. He says authorities have looked at gunman Stephen Paddock’s personal life, political affiliation, economic situation and any potential radicalization.
He says authorities are aware the Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but so far there is no evidence that it had a role.
He says authorities will continue to investigate those areas as well as look into leads and tips that come in.
Paddock unleashed gunfire Sunday from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel casino on the Las Vegas Strip, killing dozens and injuring nearly 500 people. He killed himself as police closed in.
I think this is part of this bastard’s plan - to do this without leaving any reasons for having done it. Like it makes him some kind of special mass murderer, at least in his diseased brain.
How about: To kill as many people as possible.

Why haven’t they autopsied this guy? Charles Whitman had a brain tumor that may have contributed to his bad behavior. Seems to me it’d be wise and proper to determine whether Paddock had any brain abnormalities.
If they never really find a clear motive, tumor, affiliation with a terrorist group… etc - Does that mean that there is simply too much easy access to firearms and ammunition? Should we start thinking about curtailing the number of guns people can buy/possess? Is it still too soon?
Whatever your motive, the NRA and its lackeys are delighted to make your path to mass murder as smooth and carefree as possible.
