WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange could be extradited to Sweden after he serves a 50-week sentence in London for skipping out on bail, the Associated Press reported.

The Swedish government is looking at reopening the sexual assault case against Assange, a head prosecutor told reporters, according to the AP. Prosecutors believe there is still “probable cause to suspect that Assange committed a rape,” Sweden’s head prosecutor Eva-Marie Persson said. Preliminary charges of rape have been filed against Assange since 2010.

Assange was recently kicked out of the Ecuadorian Embassy in London where he’d been living since 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden for the alleged sexual assault. Upon release, he was also hit with charges in the U.S. related to the publication of classified materials.

  1. Good, don’t give Trump a chance to pardon him. Wait till he can go to jail with Trump.

  2. I guess UK didn’t want to extradite him to American now because our current AG doesn’t appear interested in justice.
I don’t blame them. Will Sweden will be able to hold him until we can put ALL the charges into the extradition request? SMDH.

He’d better develop a taste for jail food. He’s gonna be eating a lot of it.

If he was smart, he’d let Sweden extradite him. They might give him some of those famous meatballs occasionally.

  4. Assange will soon be releasing on WikiLeaks all of the emails in Sweden about this case. Especially the ones with contemporaneous accounts by his accusers. Naturally, the release will include Assange’s full genome, just in case there’s any DNA evidence from the crimes. He is also including all his combs and toothbrushes from the Ecuadorean embassy in London just in case, which he has in a display case.

  5. The important question remains: Where is his cat?
