Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) reportedly retained a talent agency and was in talks earlier this year about potentially writing a book, The Daily Beast reported.

The book project never came to fruition and it is unclear if the firebrand freshman lawmaker is still working with the talent agency, Creative Artists Agency. However the book talks illustrate the national attention the young lawmaker has garnered after just a few short months in Congress.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), another prominent House freshman, announced earlier this year she has a book deal.

  1. Following in Bernie’s footsteps! Write a best selling book and you too can be a millionaire.

  2. My thought exactly. Disappointing seeing TPM just regurgitate Daily Beast tabloid nonsense

  3. “So?”, is right. TPM has slid into tabloid territory. Too bad. I don’t know who is influencing Josh. It ain’t pretty. I’ve been backing away. The party’s over.

  4. This story is going to show up on FOX’s evening programs, at the latest, as yet another sign that AOC is a celebrity rather than a congresswoman.

(To be honest, I can envision a few Democrats making use of this story, too, and for basically the same reason. Which is a long-winded way of saying that I share @counter_coulter’s disappointment that this is here. TPM doesn’t need to be a party to this kind of thing.)
