Brian Isaack Clyde, a 22-year-old clad in combat gear and armed with a rifle, died in a shootout with the police near a federal building in downtown Dallas, according to the Daily Beast.
Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were reportedly searching for a device near the federal courthouse.
Clyde was reportedly shot and killed before he could get off any shots.
Dallas Morning News photographer Tom Fox snapped an extreme close-up of Clyde before police shot him.
DMN staff photographer @TomFoxPhoto captured this image shortly before a gunman opened fire on the Earle Cabell Federal Building Monday morning in downtown Dallas. Fox was waiting to enter the building to cover a trial when the attack took place. https://t.co/y8fWYYuKjs pic.twitter.com/fE1kFlEy9j

“Suspect in custody”
Ergo, white middle-aged dude.
ETA: Updated to note that this was posted on the original article with headline “suspected gunman in custody”
My kid is about a block away at the National High School Debate tournament (as are about thousand other kids). They’re all on lock-down in their hotels. Our country is insane.
You’re such a cynic, there’s also a good chance of it being a white dude in his 20’s or 30’s.
Shouldn’t all of them be out on the streets with their own AR-15s, stopping the bad guy with a gun?
They’re not very much use to us hiding in the hotels.
On the serious side, sorry that your kid is experiencing this, hope that everything is okay with him/her.
Is the gun ok?
