Stacey Abrams confirmed Sunday that she would run for office again after taking some time to recuperate from her harrowing less-than-two-point loss to Republican secretary of state Brian Kemp in a race riddled with accusations of voter suppression.
“I’m going to spend the next few years as a private citizen but I do intend to run for office,” Abrams told CNN’s Jake Tapper. “I’m not sure for what or when — I need to take a nap, but once I do, I plan to get back into the ring.”
During a non-concession speech Friday, Abrams accused Kemp of using his office to purge voter rolls and enact “exact match” rules purposely to disenfranchise voters.
