A California man was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to firebombing a Planned Parenthood clinic and vandalizing a mosque.

Donny Eugene Mower was ordered to serve five years, with three years of supervised release, as well as pay $26,000 in restitution.

Mower pleaded guilty in October to one felony count of malicious damage to property by means of fire or an explosive, one misdemeanor count of damaging religious property, and one misdemeanor count of damaging the property of a reproductive health services facility.

He admitted that in August, 2010, he put a sign in front of a mosque in Madera that said “No temple for the god of terrorism at ground zero. ANB,” which stands for American Nationalist Brotherhood. The sign was referring to the proposed Park51 Islamic center in downtown Manhattan. Mower also admitted that he threw a brick through the mosque’s window.

According to the plea agreement, Mower also put a sign outside of a Planned Parenthood in Madera that said “Murdering children? That is your choice? Reap your reward. ANB,” and a few days later threw a Molotov cocktail through the window.

“This sentence sends a powerful message that the Justice Department will not tolerate violent interference with the lawful work of reproductive health clinics or attacks on places of worship of all faiths,” said Thomas E. Perez, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division, in a press release.
