The White House was placed on lockdown Friday afternoon after a man carrying two bags tried to jump over the north security fence.

Park Police and Uniformed Division officers apprehended the man before he could make it over the fence and are screening the bags, according to a White House pool report.

President Obama is in Michigan signing into law the newly passed farm bill.

Update: The White House is no longer on lockdown.
