Looks like Twitter is itching for more space than its self-imposed 140 character message limit. On Monday, the microblogging platform announced it had acquired Posterous, a minimalist blogging platform that allows users to post content via email and mobile devices. No amount for the deal was immediately disclosed. Twitter and Posterous said that the old Posterous blogs would remain active, at least for the time being, and that any changes would be clearly communicated in advance. Twitter and Posterous have also committed to allowing users to export their data to other services, should they so choose.
