Ways & Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) declared Friday at a committee hearing that the revelations in the IRS scandal so far are “just the tip of the iceberg” and that he believes there are more transgressions.
Camp, whose powerful committee has jurisdiction over tax and spending issues, held its first hearing probing the IRS targeting of conservatives in the run-up to the 2012 election.
“We know these revelations are the tip of the iceberg,” he said “It would be a mistake to treat this as just one scandal. This may be one generating — the one generating headlines, but in total I count at least five series violations of taxpayer rights.”
