Rep. Bradley Byrne (R-AL) called on President Obama Monday to not allow Syrian refugees into the United States in the face of the attacks in France.
It was reported that one of the attackers in the weekend rampage that left 129 dead throughout the city of Paris entered France by way of Grace with other migrants.
Obama reiterated in a speech Monday that the United States must “welcome refugees who are desperately seeking safety.”
Byrne, in a note to Obama, called on the President to halt the refugee resettlement program.
Here’s what Byrne also tweeted:
I sent an urgent letter to the President calling for him to stop allowing Syrian refugees into the US. My letter: https://t.co/uuHuspHHvd

We have no greater responsibility as a federal government than to ensure the safety of the American people.

It is clearly in the best interest of the American people and our national security to halt the Syrian refugee resettlement program.

I thank @GovernorBentley for blocking Syrian refugees from Alabama, but we must block the Syrian refugee program nationwide.
