With only a handful of episodes left before he ends “The Colbert Report” later this year, Stephen Colbert has begun to step outside his comfort zone.
Mocking a recent segment on NBC’s “Today” dedicated entirely to engaging grizzly bears in the wild, the Comedy Central host ended up confronting a bear in the studio. You won’t believe what happened next.
In a moment of weakness, Colbert — a bitter and sworn enemy of bears since his show’s inception — discovered he’d been wrong about the animals from the start and fell into the grizzly’s embrace.
Colbert and the bear engaged in a full-mouth kiss before the show tastefully faded into the interspecies couple’s afterglow the morning after.

Oh, to be around Sean Hannity when he watched this. I just know he wouldn’t get it. I just know that in his reptilian brain somewhere he would know Colbert’s wildly loved and admired in a way he’ll never be, and he just is not smart enough to figure out why. I just know that that thought would drive him crazy.
And that makes me very happy.
Oh, I don’t know. Something tells me Hannity loves him some bear on the down-low.
“Now, where’s this Eskimo woman you want me to shoot?”
